MARSHMELLO REMOVES HELMET TO REVEAL WILL FERRELL IN SAN FRANCISCO
Whether you like him or not, you have to admit that Marshmello has made a gold mine out of a gimmick.
The bucket-headed producer has captured the attention of fans with his sugary sweet productions and his monster collabs with some of music’s hottest pop stars including Khalid, Selena Gomez, and a recently posthumous collaboration with Lil Peep. Although, Marshmello’s identity has been under careful scrutiny, the masked producer has yet to officially come forward about his true identity. Despite plenty of speculation that Marshmello is actually producer Chris Comstock aka Dotcom – including an ASCAP writing credit on “Silence,” Marshmello has remained tight-lipped. In order to protect his identity, Marshmello refuses interviews, has provided no backstory (where does this marshmello come from anyway? does he have any favorite foods?), and likes to use publicity stunts to troll crowds.
First, Marshmello removed his mask to reveal Tiësto at EDC Las Vegas 2016. As Marshmello’s fame has grown outside of the EDM community, naturally he had to upgrade his identity. This weekend proved that Marshmello is none other than Will Ferrell.
