Sell Your Tracks as a Ghost Producer
For producers · Updated November 2026
Ghost production is one of the few ways for a producer to earn from music without building a fan base first. DJs need a steady flow of releases, and many of them buy finished tracks instead of spending months in the studio. Anonymous Tracks has connected producers and DJs since 2016: you focus on making music, we bring the buyers, handle the payments and protect your anonymity.
How selling works
Sign up as a ghost producer, confirm your email and set up your public producer profile with an alias of your choice.
Add masters, stems and MIDI. Every upload is checked for copyright with ACRCloud and reviewed by our team.
Your tracks and services appear in the store, on your profile and in the Hire a Ghost Producer marketplace.
Earn 70% of every track sale, paid out via PayPal. No need to find or chase clients yourself.
How much can you earn?
You keep 70% of the final price of every track you sell. Prices of exclusive ghost productions on the market usually range from about €99 to €199 per track, with more for premium tracks. On a €149 track, for example, you would earn about €104.
Two more things matter for your income:
- You keep your songwriter rights. The buyer becomes the owner of the master recording and may release it under their artist name, but they cannot remove you as composer without your permission, so you can still collect author royalties through your collecting society.
- You can sell services too. Offer custom tracks, co-production, mixing and mastering in the Hire a Ghost Producer marketplace. Clients pay a 30% deposit held by Anonymous Tracks before you start, and the rest after they approve the demo.
Upload requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| 100% original | No templates, construction kits, or leads, melodies, drops or MIDI from sample packs. Vocals are allowed only from royalty-free vocal packs (with an instrumental version), and top loops only to enhance your own drums. |

| Never released | The track must not be published anywhere, including SoundCloud or YouTube, and must not have been sold or used by another DJ. |
| Full pack | Extended Mix with mastered and unmastered WAV, stems and MIDI. A Radio Edit is welcome as an extra, never alone. |
| Preview | An MP3 320 kbps file used to create the watermarked preview in the store. |
| Exclusivity | Once uploaded, Anonymous Tracks has the exclusive right to sell the track for 3 months. If it doesn’t sell, the rights return to you. |

Your privacy as a ghost producer
Buyers and visitors only see your producer alias, never your legal name. When a track is sold, a confidentiality agreement keeps your role private, and all communication, files and payments with clients stay inside the platform. That protects you and the buyer.

Frequently asked questions
How do I become a ghost producer?
Learn to finish professional, club-ready tracks in a popular genre, then offer them where DJs buy music. On Anonymous Tracks you sign up as a seller, upload your first original track with stems and MIDI, and after review it goes live in the store.
How much do ghost producers earn?
It varies a lot. On Anonymous Tracks you earn 70% of each track sale, so about €70 to €140 on tracks priced €99 to €199. Custom work and premium tracks pay more, and well-known ghost producers working directly for top DJs can earn thousands per track.
Where can I find ghost producer jobs?
Ghost producer work comes from two places: selling ready-made tracks in a marketplace, and custom orders from DJs. On Anonymous Tracks you can do both: list your tracks in the store and your services in the Hire a Ghost Producer marketplace, where DJs send you requests.
Can I sell a track that is already on SoundCloud?
No. Tracks must never have been published anywhere, because the buyer pays for an exclusive, unreleased track.
Can I use samples in my tracks?
Not for the main musical parts: templates, construction kits, and melodies, drops or MIDI from sample packs are not allowed. Vocals from royalty-free vocal packs and top loops that enhance your own drums are fine. Every track is checked before it goes online.
How do I get paid?
Payouts are made via PayPal to the email in your seller account. You earn only when a track is sold; uploading is free.
Can I say that I made the track after it is sold?
No. The sale includes a confidentiality agreement: the buyer releases the track as their own, and your role stays between you and the buyer.
